Combined magnitude of NA occultations
_______________________________________________________________________________________
Listed below is the combnined magnitude of the light fron BOTH the star and asteroid.
Below that is the Magnitude of the star only.
As the Mag-Drop drop becomes smaller the difference between the Star Mag and the Combined Mag becomes greater. For instance a mag drop of 1.5 magnitudes, the combined magnitude (when the star and asteroid imgages merge) is actually 0.3 mag. brighter than the star alone. When you approach a Mag-Drop of 0.5 the combined magnitude is around 1 full magnitude brighter! than the star alone.
The events listed below are from Steve Prestons Asteroid Prediction Updates with a Mag-Drop of 1.6 or less.
I've dicontinued updating this page becaude I'm not sure if anyone was using it..
Don't hesitate to email me to update it if you're interested.
